It’s AGM time!!
Hi everyone! It’s that time of year again! As we have done for the past few years, our AGM this year will follow the same successful format – part community get-together, part formal AGM.
As constituted, there are a few governance requirements to attend to each year. It’s also an opportunity for Camden residents to hear about our plans for the upcoming year, to make suggestions, ask questions, and to think about how to get involved and play a part.
Our favourite part is the opportunity to gather together as a community – meeting and mingling, conversations and connections. We’ve once again reserved space at out our local, The Claremont, and new landlady Kelly will be serving up some great food and drinks! (Having dinner during the event is allowed, even encouraged!)
Monday 2 March 2026
The Claremont Pub. 5 Claremont Rd, Bath BA1 6EH
- 6.45pm – arrival, bar open
- 7.00pm to 8:00pm – CRA AGM
- 8.00pm onwards – bar, drinks, conversation
If you’re a resident of Camden (please note that we will ask for names and addresses on the door), do come along and join us. It promises to be a great evening. (Note: there is only street parking at the venue.)
Join the CRA!!
As always. we would love to welcome new members to our team!! The CRA is a volunteer organisation, and only ever as good as the support we receive. This year, many of our committee members have volunteered to serve another year, see below, and we welcome two newcomers!
However, we’re always in need of more people to help represent our Camden community and bring some fresh ideas to the table! We are also actively recruiting for new officers, as some of the current ones are looking to step down after many years of diligent service.
It’s not onerous – just a few hours a month – and it’s a really great way to meet local people and make a positive contribution to your neighbourhood. We also have a great time doing so!
If you would like to join the 2026 committee please email us at admin@camdenresidentsbath.org
Or, if you are curious and would like an informal chat please reach out before, or chat to us at the AGM.
Hope to see you there!!

Please, somehow, can we keep ‘traffic’ and Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTN) off the agenda; at the last AGM, some people, clearly against any form of proposed restrictions on their car use, only came along to vent their fury over the proposed bus gate, including the annoying resident who’d forensically analysed CRA statements to suggest the CRA was pro the bus gate. No interest in any other aspects of the AGM. I think the traffic, especially at commuting times, spoils Camden living and something should be done about it; I rarely drive around Bath, preferring cycling (e-bike) or walking, but for a lot of people, driving is some sort of human right (noting that some people can’t cycle/walk). Traffic often comes up at AGMs, often because it’s anti-social, but the Lansdown LTN is causing a lot of rancour, and it’s not very far away.
Thanks for your thoughts Adrian. There is nothing on the agenda at the moment concerning traffic. As far as we are aware, there are no current proposals from the council that are specific to Camden. But of course attendees are welcome to ask any questions they like. Hope to see you there!!
FULL BIO for Nigel as promised: Helen and I moved to Camden a little over 4 years ago having lived in Sidmouth, Devon for the previous 18 years. We were slightly nervous moving from a small seaside town to live in a city, but we love it here and have made some great friends.
Most of my career has been spent working in Science and IT. In the past, amongst other things, I have been a Climate Change Scientist, written the Shipping Forecast and led a team of applied scientists, software developers and project managers.
I left all that behind me in my mid fifties and since then have done some volunteering and part time paid work, mainly for Exeter University where I, amongst other things, co-developed a novel therapy for Depression. I finally retired from that earlier this year and am now delighted to be able to contribute to the Camden Residents Association.
