Let’s support Nancy and her colleagues at the RUH ITU.
Local resident, Nancy Coppock, is virtually locked-in at the RUH’s Intensive Therapy Unit and their current plea is twofold. She writes:
Digital radios – as we are going to be working in isolation. Please note – these will not be returned to you. They will be incinerated at the end of this very tiring and trying time.
Food – protein bars/nuts/dried fruit. Food that is high in protein and easy to eat. Nothing fresh please as it can become contaminated easily. Packaged goods only.
Nancy’s husband, John, will act as point of focus, so please contact him by email: [email protected], if you have things you can offer. Hopefully we might get further insider reports on how things are for patients and medical staff.
Camden is a Compassionate Community
Last night we became only the third district in Bath to align with the pan-Bath operation being run by 3SG. You’ll find our signed charter and first report here.
We’re not quite clear where this is going as yet but at least we are in a good position to get their daily bulletins which you can find on our Coronavirus page here.
Meanwhile, Louise is acting as the help and support coordinator, logging and defining the many offers we have been pledged. I’ve just checked and we’re now at 37.
She says “at the moment we have some lovely volunteers and requests for help are starting to come in, so although it’s early days things are beginning to change. We may well be in touch with you soon – this could be the start of a good neighbourly relationship when we put people in touch.”
Hedgemead Park at 11am
You might have seen my comment appended to our last post. 16 persons exchanged ideas, at a safe distance, at the bandstand this morning. Someone from the Committee will be there each day at 11 am with any ‘parish notices’ to take feedback and have a chat. It may develop into something bigger – who knows?
How are other communities getting on?
No doubt many of you have been in touch with friends and relations elsewhere. Here are a few snippets from my various inboxes today.
Hello and thank you for all the offers of help I have already received. An update for all:
We are happy to receives small packets through our letter box at 8 Berkeley Place, Camden Rd (BRIGHT turquoise door) or John will be available between 4 and 7 for larger items.
This drive is being coordinated across the hospital and stock will be assessed on Sunday and we will advise on Monday as to any gaps in our supplies.
I am not in lock down yet… but ‘it’ is coming!
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Stay indoors and stay safe. WASH YOUR HANDS!
