    Yes, provided the return for Bath was the restoration of a 24/7 police station in the town centre. Front-end policing could also be strengthened by the abolition of Police and Crime Commissioners posts, the value of which have yet to be demonstrated. The annual salary of the Avon & Somerset PCC is £85,000 and, of course, there are back office costs.

    This is really about giving the PCCs some revenue raising powers, which makes them more important and might increase interest in voting for them. So if you support that particular extension of democratic accountability then I guess you should support this.
