THE GREAT CAMDEN YARD SALE
On June 27th we will be holding the first (annual?) Yard Sale across Camden Crescent, Camden Road and Belgrave Crescent! We hope you can join in! And please spread the word as well!
DAY: June 27th
TIME: 10am (until 3pm or whenever stocks run out)
LOCATION: Camden Crescent, Camden Road and Belgrave Crescent
For those of you wishing to come as a shopper, here is some guidance:
- MAPS of the homes participating will be available on 27th at The Claremont Pub (5 Claremont Road – inside the little library) and 15 Camden Crescent.Â
- Some homes will be cash only, some will have card machines, so bring both to be safe!
- There is no parking, but if you want to bring your car to collect any purchases, we suggest this is done at the end of the day.
- Camden is served by the 6, 6a and 7 bus routes. These pick up outside the Abbey, outside Waitrose, in Fairfield Park and Larkhall.
- No rain date! If the weather is bad we will be having the great Camden garage sale so don’t be deterred.
For Camden residents who want to take part in selling, here’s how it will work:
You can choose one of two options:
Option 1 – Put a table outside your house and sell your own items! You can sell whatever you want, take money however you want, it will be entirely run by yourself. But as we are doing the marketing and general organising, we would love for you to donate a portion of the proceeds to the CRA (so that we can keep making improvements for the community and running events). We are suggesting 40-50% but the amount is completely up to you.
Option 2 – You can bring your items to one of our three CRA locations (15 Camden Crescent + two others) and we’ll sell them for you. This would be a 100% donation to the CRA. We ask that you bring the items the day before the 27th or by special arrangement. (Items brought to these locations accepted at our discretion.)
We will be printing up a map of the homes that are selling items to give out to people on the day, so if you want to take part please email admin@camdenresidentsbath.org or send a text to 07796 265110 by June 20th.
Let us know if you want to sell at your own home (include your address) or bring items to us. We will contact you directly closer to the time to let you know where to drop your items.Â
We are advertising this across Bath and will advise people that there is no parking, but if they wish to bring their cars to load any bulky items, they should do so at the end of the day.
Selling Guidance:
- good quality items
- nothing broken or sharp objects (knives, scissors, etc)
- Electrical/battery items can be sold by you, but we can’t accept at the CRA spots – make sure they are in perfect working order
- if you are bringing to a CRA location, try to make items not too big!
- generally, larger pieces of furniture might not work as we don’t want to clog up the roads with people loading, but use your discretion
- you can price items yourself or we can help if you are unsure
- Anything at a CRA location that isn’t sold on the day will be taken to a charity shop or sold online
- we will be dropping by the morning of the 27th with balloons to tie to your front gate, post, door – so don’t forget to let us know by June 20th if you are taking part!
