Bike hangar on Camden Road
Further to our post on August 11th, the six spaces for bikes in this hangar, near Prospect Place, are now available for annual hire at £42 per year – I’ve taken one! As I write this there are four of the six spaces still available. You will need to find another £35 for the key deposit. The link is here.
This is part of a Bath wide trial. For many in Camden storing a bike is difficult and maneuvering it onto the roadside can feel dangerous, particularly if it is a heavy one. I’m hoping this will make using my bike much easier and safer for me.
Camden Traffic Accident Log
I’ve been informally keeping a tally of the damage caused to humans and vehicles by passing traffic. This is the first line of a lengthening list now totalling over £50,000. Much of the damage is effectively ‘hit and run’ and becomes a cost to Camden residents, as well as the obvious inconvenience.
My experience is that every time I talk to a fellow resident I hear about another instance so I think I’m a long way from getting a full picture. Once we do get to a fuller, more representative picture I’ll add this to the list of reasons why Camden needs some form of ‘Liveable Neighbourhood’ as soon as possible. We’re on the Council’s list but we need to promote it. Great as it is to live in Camden there is a hitherto hidden cost to residents which I’d like to quantify.
If you have an example and you are prepared to share it with me then please reply to this post and set out your response like my one above. (NB: Personal injury risk – A is for actual, and H/M/L is for High/Medium/Low.)
