Busy bees at Camden Meadow
It’s been a hive of activity at Camden Meadow over the past year. (That’s the last dodgy bee pun, I promise.)
Here’s a whistle-stop tour…
January 2022: two beehives bought and installed, nurtured and cared for by our own resident beekeeper, Tullio.
March 2022: the arrival of Bath’s most famous four-legged friends, Gilbert and Chocolate Brownie goats (look out for more goats arriving this Spring when there will be lots more lovely weeds to eat)…
January to December 2022: regular volunteer work sessions (about one a month) guided by our co-lead and landscape expert, John Lindup – trimming back overgrown laurel and hazel, letting more light reach the soil, making space for a wider variety of plant species including three new native fruit trees and wild-flowers, and opening up more spectacular views over Bath and beyond…
September 2022: honey! Fresh, local, organic, gorgeous Camden Meadow Honey – enough this year for a small tasting pot to reward our hard-working volunteers (abut 45 and counting), maybe next year enough to sell a little locally…
December 2022: rounding off the year with our annual Bath Guitar School Christmas busk outside Camden Crescent overlooking ‘Bath’s biggest Christmas tree’ on Camden Meadow – mulled wine and nibbles from across the local community – it’s become a real feature in the local calendar…
