Litter pick, Sunday 16th May
Contrary to earlier reports, B&NES council does seem to be reintroducing weed spraying across the city. Sharp-eyed residents may have noticed that this has already taken place in Camden; apparently after two weeks the limp weeds will be removed by a council team.
So this Sunday it won’t be necessary to clear weeds – anyone who would like to join me at 10.00 on Sunday will be doing litter picking. If there are enough of us, we could have a good go at Camden Road and Belgrave Crescent. I have a couple of long-handled litter picking tools, bags and protective gloves for anyone who would like them.
Last month’s suggestion of meeting at the top of Bennett’s Lane has been superseded, as hopefully the council team will now be dealing with the weed clearance from Bennett’s Lane to Claremont. So, as last month, we will meet on the corner of St Stephen’s Road and Camden Crescent at 10.00 – but if the forecast is correct and we are in for another dump of rain, we will rearrange.
Many thanks to everyone who has shown interest in keeping our streets looking better.
