Hedgemead happenings
On our walk down to the city on Saturday we saw two ladies ‘pole dancing’ behind the flowers. I have been told told on good authority that this is appropriate for the day which is symbolic of fertility.
I was also reminded by our Treasurer that I had not done a post on his recent book documenting the origin and history of the park. So for those interested in 64 pages of councillors’ and residents’ wrangling during and after the various landslips in the 19th century and how the park has developed since, then Mr Bee’s Emporium has copies available. The pictures are fascinating as are the parallels of running a residents association today! More details are here.
Just time for another recommendation to participate in the tree trail throughout the park using the recently published fold-out leaflet. A downloadable version is available here. With so much happening to trees at this time of year it’s a great time for trail-finding.
