Weeds and Litter
Many thanks to everyone who came out in miserable weather on Sunday December 13th to start the litter pick and weed clearing. We made surprisingly good progress despite our small number, and we spoke to quite a few curious passers-by who must have been attracted by our very stylish high-vis gilets (see photos). Some of them expressed interest in coming along next time, or in clearing their own patch, which is brilliant.
Meanwhile other great work was done on St Stephen’s steps and at the bus stops near Bennett Lane.
I have council bags available for the debris, so if you want to embark on a bit of private enterprise do get in touch with me on [email protected] or send me a text: 07950 462285 and I can drop some round to you. They can be left next to any of the black litter bins and will be picked up by the council’s street cleansing team.
Our next foray into the streets will be the third Sunday in January – 17th – at 10.30. Hope to see you then subject only to any change in Covid arrangements.
