Does anyone know this guy?
It is perhaps a truth universally acknowledged, that a man in need of a good fortune, must be in want of the opportunity to write?
Camden neighbour, David Kernek, goes on-line. I asked him a few questions, as any self- respecting journalist would do…
David, how often are you going to post? I’ll aim for two/three postings per week.
What will the subject matter be? News and comment about developments and services in Bath, Somerset and anything else that takes my fancy.
Are you campaigning for anything? ‘Campaigning’ is probably too strong a word (my banner-carrying days are over), but I do aim to focus attention on matters including the governance of Bath – such as its ‘Cabinet’ system and the West of England Combined Authority – and topics such as sustainable tourism and employment. There’s also a need in Bath for comment that draws attention to the gulf that exists between reality and the fantasy of the town as a Jane Austen dreampark.
Will it have a slant? Not much of one, although if one emerges in comments as distinct from news it’s likely to be conservative, with small c.
Is it deadly serious or jocular? Somewhere in between. A wry look at Bath and life, warts’n all.
I’m also told by another source that David welcomes letters, features and robust opinion pieces for the newspaper.
Just like this CRA blog, you can subscribe to receive his articles as he publishes them. Click here to take a look – there’s already four articles to view which certainly get straight to the point.
ps – the CRA remains apolitical, as per our constitution. We are always glad to feature local enterprise more generally in the neighbourhood but there is no general alignment with the views expressed.
