Back to business…
A date for the diary next week… on Wednesday 7th.
Here’s a chance to get up to speed with the subject and ask a few questions which will get addressed during the event. Also it’s really good to get to hear from the councillors who are directly behind this project. Click here to register for the event next Wednesday.
It appears to be looking at the broader horizons of well-being rather than the well worn traffic issues specifically which could be quite refreshing.
And just a reminder that if you want to get your own views across about the council’s Liveable Neighbourhoods strategies, possibly after the webinar, here is the place to do it. Click here. The survey closes two weeks today on the 14th October.
Have just had clarification on the panellists. They will include council Leader, Councillor Dine Romero; Councillors Joanna Wright and Neil Butters, joint cabinet members for Transport Services, and lead officers from the council’s transport team.
So I’d assume it is less about well-being and more about low traffic neighbourhoods etc.
Released this afternoon…
Councillor Joanna Wright said: “To improve both air quality and public health, we need to create neighbourhoods in which people can safely walk and cycle and reduce our reliance on cars. We believe it is possible to do this at the same time as maintaining vehicle access to homes and businesses. By reconsidering how we use our streets, we can transform community spaces and support local businesses to thrive. These are ambitious strategies but it’s important that we hear people’s views to get liveable neighbourhoods right for everyone. Please join the webinar and have your say by responding to our consultation.”
