Christmas Carols through Camden
Well, after we had worked out where our start was on Ainslie’s Belvedere, our small troop really got going. Before the end we had amassed about 20 people of all ages (3 to 63 at least) and processed from lamp post to lamp post, singing carols in very respectable unison, along Camden Road and Belgrave Crescent and then up Fairfield Road to the Fairfield Arms. After refreshing our tired vocal cords we sang a little more to the good folk in the pub.
My expert eight year old accountant, Isla, and I counted all the money this evening and were amazed to discover we’d collected £109.08 for the Genesis Trust who support the Sunday lunch for the homeless at Nexus on the London Road. We’re wondering about an Easter equivalent…
Thanks to all the stalwart singers and those brave enough to open their front doors.
Marry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to everyone in Camden.
It was a lot of fun! I thought we sounded pretty good! A really good idea Jeremy.
