Clean Air Plan – news on the way…
There has been very little coming out of the council recently on their modelling work on the Clean Air Zone (CAZ). Their own timeline suggests that we should see their ‘preferred package of measures’ by 30th September – we are hoping for an earlier sighting. By this time we should have two further things from the council which could be influences on their decision making:
- the automatic number plate recognition analysis from last November which should give us the best possible picture of traffic flows in, out and through the city. Hopefully this will reduce the mythology, mixed opinions and guesswork over where all the polluting vehicles go.
- a promised response from Mark Shelford, the Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment, to our short report on the detailed effects of the CAZ on daily life for Camden residents.
